We get it: you're probably asking yourself why you should pay to be an official member of PRSSA. To help, we've compiled a list of reasons that we've found beneficial during our time in PRSSA.

You’ll have friends across the nation.

PRSSA is a national organization connecting students around the country. Your network will be expanded and you’ll have contacts across the nation. Additionally, you’ll have a connection with the thousands of PR practitioners in our parent organization, PRSA.

You can list PRSSA on your resume.
By paying your dues you’ll become an official member, meaning you can list PRSSA on your resume. This can be a great conversation topic in an interview for an internship or a job.

To hear about exclusive internship opportunities.

When you become a member you’ll have the opportunity to create a MyPRSA account. Through this account, you’ll be able to access the PRSSA internship center with postings from companies around the nation.

Agency tours will be free!
For members, agency tours will be free of charge! For non-dues paying members, a fee `
of $20 will be required to attend agency tours each semester.

To have access to amazing scholarships.
Another perk of having a MYPRSA account… you’ll have the chance to apply for over a dozen scholarships exclusive to official members.

You can attend regional conferences.
In 2018, there will be regional conferences in Omaha, NE, Columbia, MO and many other neat locations. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet with students and practitioners in these great cities!

To expand your leadership horizons.
By becoming an official member you will be eligible to run for officer positions in 2018! Being a member of our executive team is a great way to broaden your network and to better the chapter. Additionally, there are national PRSSA officer positions and leadership opportunities!

You can attend national conferences.
The 2018 PRSSA National Conference will take place in Austin, Texas! This is an opportunity to surround yourself with thousands of like minded PR students and to hear from top industry professionals.

You can participate in Mindfire!
Mindfire is a crowd sourcing program hosted by Ketchum, a renowned international agency. Participants can compete in weekly challenges presented by ACTUAL CLIENTS. Submit your ideas and have them reviewed by strategists at Ketchum. One winner will be chosen for each challenge and win $100!

For graduating seniors, your PRSA dues will be significantly reduced!
PRSSA can help bridge the gap between senior year and the professional world by reducing your PRSA membership dues.

Dues are $75. Please bring cash or check made out to K-State PRSSA to the October 23rd meeting or drop in the PRSSA mailbox in Kedzie 105.
