SFC Abram J. Pinnington III was born in Auburn, Ind., and is a first-generation American. His family immigrated to the United States from Cheshire, England in 1976. He accepted a baseball scholarship and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine. During his junior year, he decided to enlist in the US Army. After completing Infantry One Station Unit Training and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga., he was assigned to the prestigious 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, popularly known as "The Old Guard," located in Washington, D.C.. While assigned there, he was a member of the Presidential Escort Team assigned to the White House and served as an escort to Pres. George W. Bush more than 238 times between 2005 and 2007. In 2009 the assignment was disbanded, making him less than 90 Soldiers to have ever had the distinguished title of "Presidential Escort."
Benton Boyd Benton graduated from K-State in 1998 with a bachelors degree in education. He currently works for Inquest Marketing as director of online marketing and digital strategy.
